As first conversation
My name is Miruna and I’m 22…this is what most of the people find out very fast from me…it’s not much, there are few details…there is actually only one, that I’m 22. This means that I was born in one of the months of the year 1983, but you don’t know exactly which one, but maybe you could care less. The next thing that might struck you is my name, Miruna…for some is strange, for some is not, for some it sounds ugly, for some not…
Now you have to understand that each person is different, which might seem as an understatement, but it’s not. Conversations go in different directions with different people; some might ask about the month, some about my horoscope, some about my birth place, some about my hobbies…but I’m pretty sure of one thing, not so many would ask the same questions in the same order…which is fine with me…otherwise, I would get really bored of always being asked the same set of questions in the same order…I like diversity!:o)
So, I’m 22…I’m a girl, or should I say a young woman? I wonder… and I’m Romanian. This tells you that I’m probably a regular person from the Eastern part of Europe, that I probably remember some things about the communist era, that I talk Romanian and that I understand Romanians…but do I?
Can you feel and understand a person from a small conversation? To really catch the essence in one glance? Wouldn’t that be great? Or, would it be extremely sad? Where would the fun be? Where would all the questions start and end? Right there on the spot? That would be really sad, indeed… I would like to tell you everything at once on the spot, but I wouldn’t like to live with the fear of making somebody extremely sad, so, let’s say that this is our first conversation and it’s a short one; so let me tell you this:
“My name is Miruna and I’m 22; I’m a young Romanian woman.”
